The reason I chose dentistry for a long time, since the last time I could remember, has been a long time since I was in high school. And I was always curious about teeth and the oral hygiene because where I grew up, I grew up in Vietnam, actually. I was born in Vietnam, and I came here when I was 15 years old to U.S. So, dentistry was a mystery, kind of like very vague to me where I didn’t have good oral hygiene, I didn’t even have a checkup or saw dentist much when I was little. And I got to be honest with you that I was a really bad patient when I was little.
The dentist really scare me and I never thought that I could be one. But when I came here in… It’s a totally different game, ball game, to me. And I’m like a lot of things I didn’t know about teeth, a lot about dentistry. And I started check out the dental book about teeth at the local library back there in Oregon. When I first came to U.S., I grew up in Oregon and I studied there in high school, and college, and then finally get to dental school. It was hard, but you learn a lot. And you never thought that you could make a big impact to a lot of people as my patients. Yeah, people appreciate you and give them good smile, and that’s the end of the day, like the bottom line is to help people just like the way that I couldn’t get help when I was little. So, I think that’s how I get to dental school. I did dentistry.
